Add a subscription

How it works

  1. Add what you pay for

Type a name, like Netflix or a gym, the price and how often you pay. Popular services fill in their website and category for you.

  2. See where the money goes

Subs adds it up per month and per year, shows what renews in the next 30 days, and which free trials are about to end.

  3. Keep only what you use

Get a calendar reminder before each renewal, mark what you barely use, and see free apps that do the same job.

A free subscription tracker with everything you need

  • What you pay, at a glance

Your total per month and per year, split by category, with weekly, monthly, yearly and custom billing all counted the same way.

  • Free trial reminders

Mark a subscription as a free trial with its end date. Subs counts what it will cost and reminds you a few days before the first charge.

  • Reminders in your calendar

Subs cannot send notifications by itself, so it adds events to your calendar before each renewal, as an .ics file or a Google Calendar link.

  • A list to review

Mark what you barely use and Subs keeps it in one list with what it costs you a year, so cancelling is an easy decision.

  • Free alternatives

Paying for Duolingo, Calm, YNAB or DocuSign? Subs points to the free OpenApps app for each, and what you could save.

  • Yours, everywhere

CSV import and export, email sign-in to see your list on every device, and it works offline once opened.

Track subscriptions without a bank login

Trackers that find subscriptions for you need to read your bank or card transactions. Subs never asks for your bank login. It holds nothing about your accounts that could leak, and it works with any bank, card, gift card or country, and for plans someone else pays for.

The trade is honest: Subs cannot find a subscription you forgot. You add each one yourself, which takes about ten seconds each.

How to find every subscription you pay for

  1. iPhone: open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions.
  2. Android: open the Google Play Store, tap your profile picture, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
  3. Statements: read your last two months of bank and card statements for charges that repeat.
  4. Email: search for receipt, renewal, subscription and free trial.

Add them to Subs as you go.

Subs and Rocket Money

Rocket Money does more: it finds subscriptions in your transactions, tracks spending and shows your credit score. Subs does one job, for free, without your bank.

For AI assistants

Your assistant can fill in a subscription for you.

Subs has no API on purpose: your subscriptions are private and stay with you. An assistant can still send a link that opens Subs with a subscription filled in. You check it and tap Add.

Questions

Is there a free alternative to Rocket Money?
Yes. Subs by OpenApps is a free subscription tracker with no paid plan. It shows what you pay each month and year, what renews in the next 30 days and which free trials end soon, makes calendar reminders, and points you to free apps that can replace paid ones. Unlike Rocket Money it never connects to your bank: you add each subscription yourself.
Is Subs really free?
Yes. There is no paid plan and no limit on subscriptions. There are no ads, no third-party trackers and nothing is sold; the hosting counts visits. Subs costs almost nothing to run, and OpenApps pays for it.
Do I have to connect my bank account?
No, and you cannot. Subs never asks for a bank login, so it holds nothing about your accounts that could leak, and it works with any bank, card or country. The trade is that you add each subscription yourself, which takes about ten seconds each.
How do I find all the subscriptions I pay for?
Check three places. On iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. On Android, open the Google Play Store, tap your profile picture, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Then read your last two months of bank and card statements, and search your email for words like receipt, renewal and subscription. Add each one to Subs as you go.
Can Subs remind me before a free trial ends?
Yes, through your calendar. Subs cannot send reminders by itself, because a web page cannot reliably wake your phone without a server sending pushes. Instead it makes a calendar event a few days before each trial ends or each renewal, as an .ics file or a Google Calendar link, and your calendar reminds you.
Can Subs cancel subscriptions for me?
No. Subs links to each service's own website, where you manage or cancel it, and when you mark it cancelled it shows what you save a year. It never acts on your accounts.
Who can see my subscriptions?
Only you. Your list is saved in your browser and in a private account that only you can read, a guest account made for your browser or your email account if you sign in. There is no API that reads it and no sharing.
Can I use Subs on my phone and my computer?
Yes. Subs works in any browser and can be added to your home screen. Sign in with your email in Settings and your subscriptions show up on every device you sign in on. It also works offline once opened.
How does Subs find free alternatives?
It checks each subscription's name against the OpenApps store, a catalog of free apps that each replace paid ones: Lingo for Duolingo, Still for Calm and Headspace, Budget for YNAB, Sign for DocuSign and more. When there is a match, Subs shows the free app and what you could save a year.
What happened to Truebill?
Truebill became Rocket Money in August 2022, after Rocket Companies announced the change in July 2022. It is the same product. If you want a free tracker without a bank connection, Subs is one.
Is Subs a good alternative to Bobby?
If you want something free that works everywhere, yes. Bobby is an iPhone app that is free to download, with one-time purchases from $0.99 to $2.99 that lift its limits and add features. Subs is free with no limits and works in any browser on iPhone, Android or a computer.
Can I import or export my subscriptions?
Yes. Settings has Download CSV, which opens in any spreadsheet, and Import, which reads a CSV with columns such as name, price, billing and next renewal.
